Shafts and Rotors
| The most commonly available degassing rotor shafts and heads are manufactured from machined graphite. Unfortunately, machined graphite parts degrade during use and become oxidized and eroded. Eventually the rotor head efficiency is reduced and the shaft thins until it breaks. Permatech’s team of innovative engineers has developed a new ceramic shaft and rotor head assembly to replace machined graphite. Our new refractory technology significantly increases resistance to oxidation and erosion in these parts.
The new shafts and rotor heads have been proven to perform as well—if not better than—the current machined graphite parts, but at a fraction of the cost! In many cases we have been able to combine the shaft and rotor head to create a one-piece innovation that is even more cost effective for rotary degassing.
