Provide assessments of refractory maintenance needs that will offer better performance, longer life and reduced down time through proper planning of refractory maintenance.
- Work closely and extensively with customers to provide improved performance in the operation and maintenance of ingot plants as it pertains to furnaces, metal handling equipment, and most all other refractories.
- Provide technical services, including project management, developing scope of project supervision, engineering, procurement and other related services for the proper maintenance of molten metal handling systems, furnaces and other refractories in the ingot plant.
- Provide proper inventory planning of maintenance and spare materials.
- Work with plant maintenance personnel, outside contractors or Permatech refractory specialists to oversee and provide the required refractory maintenance needs.
GENERAL PROGRAM
Permatech has allocated this program to two basic parts, allowing for more cost effective project planning. The first segment being a refractory assessment report.This is a comprehensive evaluation of the current condition of installed refractory and a team review of any implications, providing a written report to the customer.
Upon completion of the review, we are then available to work with the customer to develop and implement a refractory maintenance program or work to address specific refractory issues based on in-house capabilities and current needs. The subsequent sections offer additional details.
REFRACTORY ASSESSMENT
During this segment of the program, Permatech will spend the time necessary at the customer’s facility to establish the current condition of the refractory related materials in the plant. This assessment would include a complete review of molten metal handling and transport equipment from the furnace to the casting station. We will assess the current condition of refractory materials and equipment and prepare a written report of our findings, noting areas where maintenance action is required.
The report will include current conditions, areas of possible concerns as well as items that we believe may cause equipment downtime in the near future. At the end of this review, we will assist in developing the best follow up course of action.
The fees for this service will be based simply on the size of the facility and the amount of time estimated for the assessment. Written quotations with specific areas of inspection are available upon request.
REFRACTORY MAINTENANCE PLANNING
Upon review of the assessment report, we can develop a plan to assist the plant with their refractory maintenance program. This program is tailored to meet the specific needs of a particular location, taking into account on-site capabilities and corporate policies.
Examples of services range from providing technical support and engineering to procurement of materials and labor as well as managing the actual maintenance program.
